Maria Madalena Maria (PharmD, MSc)
Executive DirectorMore than 30 years of professional experience in the area of medicine and healthcare products, in quality control, quality assurance and regulatory affairs. Developed and validated analytical methods, ensured compliance with GMP/GMP in manufacturing units, ensured regulatory compliance and prepared expert reports.
She was responsible for quality control at the Military Laboratory, responsible for installing pharmacotechnical tests and for managing and controlling the quality of the INFARMED Laboratory, Director of the Department of Medicines for Human Use at INFARMED, Qualified Person (QP ) and Director of Quality Assurance at Iberfar Indústria Farmacêutica S.A., QP at Novartis Farma – Produtos Farmacêuticos, S.A. and QP at Genibet Biopharmaceuticals, S.A.
He developed a Research Project at the Military Laboratory, in collaboration with the Faculty of Pharmacy of Lisbon, with the theme “Research for impurities in raw materials” and carried out several scientific works. He taught the degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences at the Lusófona University of Humanities and Technologies and the master’s degree in Pharmaceutical and Parapharmaceutical Industry at CESIF. He was a member of the National Council for Cooperation of the Order of Pharmacists.
Graduated in Pharmacy from the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Lisbon and Master in Advanced Pharmacotechnics from the same Faculty. Specialist in Pharmaceutical Industry by the Order of Pharmacists. He received a commendation for the scientific work carried out at the Military Laboratory.
Joaquim Marques (PharmD)
Operational DirectorProfessional career in the area of human and veterinary medicines, he is retired Colonel of Pharmacist of the Portuguese Army.
As a military pharmacist he worked at the Military Laboratory where, throughout his career as a Pharmaceutical Officer, he carried out galenical development, was responsible for the manufacture of medicines for human use and medical devices, serving as Director of Production and, later, of Industrial Services (Director Factory). He also assumed the roles of Commercial Director and Deputy Director. Already in the position of Pharmaceutical Colonel, he represented the Ministry of National Defense in NATO and participated in the review of the International Health Regulations. He was awarded several commendations and decorations.
As a civil pharmacist, he was Technical Director of Sanofi Santé Animal, later Ceva Saúde Animal, in the area of veterinary medicine, where he also took on roles in regulatory affairs. He returned to the area of human medicine, in biotechnology pharmaceutical companies, such as Biogen, BiogenIdec and Genzyme, where he served as Technical Director and Regulatory Affairs. At Sanofi-Genzyme he was also responsible for RegulatoryCompliance,Market Access and Public Affairs. He was a Qualified Person (QP) at Stemmatters. Collaborates on medicinal cannabis projects, currently as QP at Herdade das Barrocas.
Graduated in Pharmacy from the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Lisbon and specialist in the pharmaceutical industry from the Order of Pharmacists (OF). He was a member of the OF Industry College and, in this capacity, representative in the European Industry Pharmacists Group (GPIE/EIPG). While still at OF, he was a member of the National Quality Council and president of the Lisbon Regional Jurisdictional Council. He was part of several APIFARMA working groups. Coordinates the Working Group on Rare Diseases and Orphan Medicines at P-BIO (Portuguese Bioindustry Association).
Ana Gusmão (PharmD)
Regulatory AffairsOver 30 years in the pharmaceutical industry, he has accumulated experience in coordinating clinical trials, regulatory affairs, pharmacovigilance, training medical information delegates and sales teams, and negotiating the introduction of new drugs in hospitals.
She was an advisor to the Production Director at the JABA Laboratory, responsible for the Department of Clinical Pharmacology and Medicines Registration at the Franco Farmacêutica Laboratory, Director of the Department of ”Affaires Pharmaceutiques Génèrales” and the Communication Department of the Sanofi Group in Portugal, later Sanofi – Winthrop. For 20 years she was the legal representative and attorney of Laboratórios del Dr. She was in Portugal, where she held roles as Country Manager, Technical Director and Market Access.
Graduated in Pharmacy from the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Lisbon. Postgraduate in Business Management (PADE) promoted by IESE/AESE (Association of Higher Business Studies) in collaboration with the University of Navarra. She was a delegate from Portugal at OFIL – Organization of Ibero-Latin American Pharmacists.
Mariana Amaro (PharmD)
Regulatory AffairsProfessional experience of more than 10 years dedicated to the Regulatory Affairs area at M ao Cubo – Regulatory Consulting, where he ensures the review of texts, namely labeling, and the legal and regulatory compliance of documentation relating to cosmetic products, food supplements and medical devices, as well as its submission to the respective Authorities, namely the notification of cosmetic products on the European CPNP portal, of food supplements on DGAV, of medical devices on INFARMED, and also the registration on CIAV of products that require it. It also ensures the organization of processes for requesting CNP (national product code), essential for its commercialization through the Pharmacy channel.
For 6 years, at Dermoteca, he worked in the areas of product management, marketing, training of medical information delegates (DIM) and their registration with INFARMED, training of sales teams and regulatory affairs within the scope of Cosmetic Products.
Previous experience of 1 year in Community Pharmacy, at Farmácia da Luz.
He holds an Integrated Master’s Degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Lisbon and, in 2022, completed the Postgraduate Update Course in Advanced Cosmetology, also taught by FFUL.
